OUR STORY

Where Trevane Comes From

Trevane was founded by a small group of consultants who had spent years inside large advisory firms — and who noticed a persistent gap. The engagements that moved the dial for clients were almost always the tightly scoped, senior-led ones. The sprawling retainers and multi-month transformation projects often delivered documents, not change.

When we set up Trevane in Hong Kong, the premise was straightforward: offer well-scoped work, delivered by experienced practitioners, at a price that makes sense for the kinds of companies that make up the backbone of the Hong Kong economy — owner-managed businesses, regional subsidiaries, and growing mid-market firms.

Our three current engagements — revenue diversification strategy, regulatory submission support, and team effectiveness workshops — reflect the problems we hear about most often. They are designed to be entered and exited cleanly, with a defined output and no open-ended commitment required.

We are a small team by design. That keeps us honest about what we take on, and it means the people you meet during scoping are the ones who do the work.

Our Mission

To help Hong Kong organisations make well-considered decisions — and then follow through on them — without the overhead of large-firm consulting.

Our Approach

Every engagement is scoped before it starts. We define the outputs, the timeline, and the fee together — then we get on with the work. No retainers, no scope creep, no surprises.

Our Values

  • Directness — we say what we observe
  • Humility — we ask before we assume
  • Reliability — commitments are kept
  • Discretion — client information stays private

HOW WE OPERATE

Standards We Hold Ourselves To

Confidentiality

Mutual NDA terms are standard on every engagement. We do not reference client names or work without explicit written permission.

Clear Agreements

Every engagement begins with a written scope that defines deliverables, timeline, and fee. We do not begin work until both parties are satisfied with what has been agreed.

Regulatory Awareness

Our team maintains current knowledge of the Hong Kong regulatory landscape, including SFC, HKMA, and Companies Ordinance requirements relevant to our engagements.

Senior Delivery

The consultant who scopes your engagement is the one who delivers it. We do not delegate client work to junior staff or subcontractors without your knowledge and consent.

Honest Communication

We share our observations plainly, including when those observations are inconvenient. We do not shape findings to fit what a client expects to hear.

Delivery Commitments

We hold ourselves to the timelines we agree to. If external factors create delays, we communicate early and work with you to find a path forward.

OUR EXPERTISE

Consulting Built for the Hong Kong Market

Hong Kong remains one of Asia's most dynamic business environments — with a well-established legal framework, a sophisticated financial sector, and a gateway position between mainland China and international markets. Trevane's work is shaped by that context. Our consultants have worked in and around Hong Kong businesses for over a decade, and we bring that accumulated understanding to every engagement.

Revenue diversification is a practical challenge for many Hong Kong companies that grew quickly on the back of a single product, channel, or customer relationship. Our structured approach — analysing current revenue mix, evaluating adjacent opportunities, and building business cases for selective expansion — gives leadership teams a clear picture of their options without overstating what diversification can achieve.

Regulatory submissions in Hong Kong require precision and familiarity with the expectations of local authorities. Our team's background in compliance and financial services means we understand what regulators look for and can help teams prepare documentation that is coherent, complete, and professionally presented.

Team effectiveness sits at the intersection of strategy and culture. The most carefully constructed plans stall when the people responsible for execution are working at cross-purposes. Our workshop methodology surfaces those friction points and helps teams build the agreements they need to move forward with clarity.
